Its official opening day was July 4, 2024. New Wayfinding Signs in the Park Last fall, FSP was awarded a Tompkins County Tourism Program Capital Grant in the amount of $19,000 to update all trail wayfinding signs on the Cayuga Waterfront Trail in Cass Park, replacing a few wayfinding signs along the remainder of the Waterfront Trail between Inlet Island and to update the Wayfinding in Stewart Park. We’re pleased to say that the first half of the Stewart Park signs were installed this week. Thank you to the Strategic Tourism Planning Board and the Tompkins County Legislature for this generous support. Free Carousel Weekend August 9 & 10! Come to Stewart Park this weekend, August 9 & 10, for free Carousel rides sponsored by the Jill Burlington Team of Warren Real Estate: Jill Burlington, Garrett Venuto, Emily Russell and Thalia Hussain Codd. And there will be free ice cream by The Ice Cream Bar each day from 2-4pm! WaterMusic 2025 On Sunday, July 27, Friends of Stewart Park and Triphammer Arts hosted WaterMusic and Dancing on the Trail! We were grateful for the beautiful weather, talented artists, the Luna Food Truck, our photographers, Mary Martin for all her help, and, of course, to all who came out to this celebration. She’s often in the park cheering on her teenagers at the Cascadilla Boat Club—making this a natural fit. Rebekah is working hard to keep the library well-stocked throughout the season, and is already dreaming up fun, book-themed events for the future. We are so grateful to Rebekah for volunteering her time and energy to the lending library! Sparkling with action and romance, The Eagle, directed by Clarence Brown, is adapted from the 1841 novel Dubrovsky by Alexander Pushkin. Valentino's co-stars are Vilma Banky and Louise Dresser. Paddle, roll or stroll to great performances along the Cayuga Waterfront Trail between the Farmers Market and Cass Park. In honor of 10 years of the Cayuga Waterfront Trail, this year FSP has rented the Ithaca Farmer’s Market Pavilion. This year's event will be rain or shine, with performances under cover at the Farmer's Market even open-air performances are rained out. The evening will finish with a closing concert at the Farmer's Market at 7:30. Drinks will be offered by IFM vendors.
