A bigger, better Splash Pad and Playground Bathroom!
The bigger, better Splash Pad opened July 4, 2024. The Splash Pad, along with the adjacent bathroom, were the final phase of Friends of Stewart Park’s inclusive playground build.
The completely accessible Splash Pad features dynamic sprinklers, water-saving interactive activation, and differentiation in spray zones.
The adjacent Playground Bathroom provides accessible, plenty of room for dressing, and an adult-sized changing table, right in the heart of the playground.
Funding for the Stewart Park Splash Pad project comes in part through an Environmental Protection Fund grant (EPF #210131) administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; NY State support through Assemblymember Anna Kelles; Tompkins County Tourism Program; the City of Ithaca, and private donations.
Thank you to Edger Enterprises, Taitem Engineering, all the incredible folks at the City of Ithaca, and a huge thank you to Parkitects’ KJ Armstrong and Nathan for designing a splash pad that’s brings so much joy to so many children!
