As the busy summer season comes to a close, I am pausing to reflect with gratitude on all that Stewart Park has brought to our community—and all that our community has made possible for the park.
Through our Free Carousel Days sponsorship program, we provided 30,000 free rides across 26 days, giving all children and families the opportunity to enjoy one of Stewart Park’s most beloved traditions. We hosted eight volunteer workdays, with more than 500 volunteer hours dedicated to keeping the park beautiful and thriving. We delivered 16 tons of fresh sand to replenish the playground sandboxes, and our furnishings program added six new playground benches, five picnic tables, and two swing benches throughout the park. We also gave away more than 900 free books through Elayne’s Little Library on the playground.
Behind every free carousel ride, every garden tended, every book chosen, and every new bench is a community of people who believe Stewart Park is worth caring for.
